Hello Andrew I was given your name and website by Wayne Tarr of SC Giant at Shelly Beach, when asking if there was a cycling club on the South Coast.
I am an older female – age 66 and have recently started riding again – never having done much between a three speed bike at school, back in the dark ages and a few years ago, when I bought a very “entry level” bike. I trained as a physical education teacher after finishing school and have always enjoyed being active. I recently purchased a better bike.
We live in Pumula (closer to Hibberdene) and I have a dislike for riding on main roads due to driver behaviour and disregard of road users. I ride regularly with another lady of a similar age and can manage 30 kms at a stretch, but am not a speed snake by any means. I ride at the Burry Stander Bike Park, weekly, often with Mandie Stander who is trying to get fitter. So, legs are getting stronger ! We also ride into the cane farms beyond Umzumbe.
Do you know of any “older” female riders who ride for pleasure, wanting to get fitter, living in the vicinity of Umtentweni ? I am beginning to think of entering the odd race or two, but would prefer to start on more of a fun level to get an idea of ability and fitness levels required.
Thanks for getting this far. If you have time to reply, I would appreciate it. Thank you. Not a comment, but an enquiry if ok with you. Please don’t suggest twitter or facebook – I loathe both, sorry.

Hi Gareth
Thank you for your note. I have found a couple of people closer to home and as soon as feel up to riding again, will contact Carol. Flu seems to have struck. Thanks for your latest update – perhaps if you remove my name from your list. I should be ok now.
Kind regards
Eileen Rasmussen. 7th June 2016.
